# Color Season Finder > Free color analysis. Finds your 12-season color type from a selfie analysed > in your own browser, or from a 12-question quiz, and returns the full palette > with hex codes, makeup, hair colors, best metals and colors to avoid. Method: three normalized axes (hue: cool to warm, value: light to deep, chroma: soft to bright) are measured, the axis furthest from neutral names the season, and the hue reading picks the side. Every result carries a confidence score. No accuracy percentage is claimed anywhere on this site because none can be substantiated. Photos are never uploaded: there is no upload endpoint. ## Start here - [How it works](https://colorseasonfinder.com/how-it-works/): the full method, the sources, and the limits - [Seasonal color analysis](https://colorseasonfinder.com/seasonal-color-analysis/): the 12 seasons explained - [Color analysis quiz](https://colorseasonfinder.com/color-analysis-quiz/): the 12-question path - [What season am I](https://colorseasonfinder.com/what-season-am-i/): which dimension decides your season ## The 12 seasons - [Light Spring](https://colorseasonfinder.com/light-spring/): Delicate, sun-warmed and light, fresh pastels with a golden glow. People of every skin depth can be warm, cool or neutral, and all twelve seasons occur across the full range of skin tones. - The vein test does not measure undertone. Vein colour is produced by wavelength-dependent scattering and absorption in the tissue above the vessel, not by blood colour: Kienle et al., "Why do veins appear blue? A new look at an old question", Applied Optics 35(7):1151-1160, 1996. https://doi.org/10.1364/AO.35.001151 - The sun-reaction test (burn vs tan) is the Fitzpatrick scale, devised to select ultraviolet doses for psoriasis phototherapy in white skin: Fitzpatrick, Archives of Dermatology 124(6):869-871, 1988. https://doi.org/10.1001/archderm.1988.01670060015008 Predicting Fitzpatrick type from objective facial colour measurement is about 20% accurate: Ulrich et al., npj Digital Medicine, 2025. https://doi.org/10.1038/s41746-025-01770-4 - Skin colour has been objectively measurable in CIELAB since the Individual Typology Angle was introduced by Chardon et al., International Journal of Cosmetic Science 13(4):191-208, 1991. https://doi.org/10.1111/j.1467-2494.1991.tb00561.x - That colour near the face changes how a face is judged is supported: Stephen et al., International Journal of Primatology 30(6):845-857, 2009 (https://doi.org/10.1007/s10764-009-9380-z), and for clothing specifically, Zhang et al., Coloration Technology, 2026 (https://doi.org/10.1111/cote.12828). - What is NOT established is the twelve-season taxonomy itself. No peer-reviewed study validates the twelve categories or reports inter-analyst agreement. This site says so on /how-it-works/ rather than claiming an accuracy percentage. - Hex codes on this site are expert-representative approximations. No major analysis system publishes official hex values, because their draping swatches are proprietary physical fabrics that differ between systems. - "Deep Winter" and "Dark Winter" are the same season, as are "Warm Spring"/"True Spring", "Cool Summer"/"True Summer" and "Clear Winter"/"Bright Winter".
