Celebrity Color Seasons
These are estimates, not verdicts. A celebrity typing is made from published photographs under unknown lighting, usually with makeup and almost always with dyed hair, which are the three biggest sources of error in color analysis. They are useful for one thing, and it is a genuinely useful thing: seeing what a season looks like on a face you already know.
Light Spring
- Elle Fanning Pale warm skin and very light golden hair; she is at her best in the palette's peach and mint end.
- Nicole Kidman Strawberry blonde in her natural coloring, with the warm, light and low contrast balance that defines the season.
- Saoirse Ronan Light coloring with a warm cast in the hair and a clear, light eye.
- Taylor Swift Light golden blonde, fair warm skin and light blue eyes, with almost no depth contrast between them.
True Spring
- Amy Adams Natural warm red hair with warm, clear skin and no cool cast anywhere.
- Blake Lively Golden blonde with warm skin and clear features, which is the True Spring signature.
- Ed Sheeran Copper hair with warm, light skin; a reminder that the warm Spring palette is not a women's palette.
- Jennifer Lawrence Warm blonde with golden skin and a clear, light eye; she looks best in the palette's coral and warm yellow end.
Bright Spring
- Emma Stone Warm red hair against light, clear skin with green eyes that stand out sharply.
- Kerry Washington Warm undertones with high clarity and real separation between hair, skin and eyes.
- Olivia Munn Warm leaning skin with dark hair and a sharply defined eye, which is the bright end of Spring.
- Tessa Thompson Clear, warm coloring with bright features and strong internal contrast.
Light Summer
- Cate Blanchett Cool light coloring with grey blue eyes and a gentle, soft edged face.
- Margot Robbie Light cool blonde with fair, rosy skin and a low contrast face.
- Reese Witherspoon Ash blonde with light, cool skin and very little separation between her features.

Questions people ask
- How accurate are celebrity color season typings?
- Less accurate than an analysis of your own face, and they should be read as estimates. Stage and studio lighting, professional makeup and hair colour all move the reading, and different analysts publish different answers for the same person.
- Why do different sites give the same celebrity different seasons?
- Because they are working from different photographs, and often from different systems. A four season analyst and a twelve season analyst will disagree by construction, and two photographs of the same person under different lights can genuinely support different readings.
